A signature of Katherine’s landscapes (excluding the seascapes) is her little tree(s) that accompany the horizon of her artwork. Generally there is just the one tree but never more than 3 in any one artwork. The Boscia albitrunca or "Tree of Life" as it is called, is found in southern and central African regions, prefers open areas and usually stands alone. It is easily identified by its whitish bark, gnarled trunk and dark green canopy. This tree is so important that the local South African Tswana people do not even want to chop its wood, as they believe that if they burn it, their cows will only produce male calves.
The tree firstly, gives Katherine’s landscapes a focal point and gives the artwork depth. Secondly, it is associated to an Original Katherine Wood and makes her work unique.

How to measure
Wrap a string or thin strip op paper around the thickest part of the finger you want to war the ring on. Mark where the paper or string meets and measure the distance in millimetres – this is your circumference. Divide the measurement by 3.14 for your universal ring size.
